School of Design at Louisiana Tech University 6th Annual Louisiana Biennial Exhibition

I’m excited to be a part of this years 6th Annual Louisiana Biennial Exhibition. The work will be on display at the School of Design at Louisiana Tech University. The exhibition dates are January 25 - February 15, 2022. My images are a diptych pair of store window displays of southern ball gowns and a quinceañera vestidos. Visually I am trying to show that on the surface our communities have many similar traditions. But, below those surfaces, lie differences, beliefs, and challenges not outrightly seen. Looking forward to visiting the exhibition, photographing Northern Louisiana and to also reconnect with the members of Stoner Hill Baptist Church. I definitely have plans to revisit Homer, Louisiana where my Great-Great Grandfather was freed from slavery. Overall looking forward to do some photography in Northern Louisiana. Grateful for this opportunity.
